Early voting snafu in Knox County, “I thought he was that guy from Good Times,” says confused voters

Posted on July 23, 2008 by Brehd Patchley

It appears that race for the next Sheriff of Knox County may be getting a little confusing for voters. Complaints have been coming in since Jimmie Walker, better known as J.J. Evans was seen over the weekend on a repeat of the Chelsea Handler show. “Until I saw the show, I thought I was voting for ‘Kid Dy-no-mite!’ as my next sheriff. I certainly don’t want this other guy…he’s not even black,” explained one exasperated voter.

Representatives from Tyree’s campaign aren’t yet certain as to whether they think the confusion will help or hinder Tyree’s run. They have requested that all voting booths have a note attached stating that “J.J. is not in any way connected with Good Times.”
