Lake City native and Knoxville resident Charles Shire stunned colleagues this week by volunteering for an additional work assignment.
On June 26th, sometime late in the evening in a completely unprecedented occurrence Charles was overheard saying “If anyone has any extra work I could help them with I would be happy to pitch in.â€
Although little valid work was available to hand off at that particularly time the offer was not overlooked. The entire staff pitched in and found ‘extra work’ for Mr. Shire to assist with. He could be found until late in the night emptying wastebaskets, straightening paperclips and turning desk calendars to the proper date.
