Some want to change the starting age and requirements to enter kindergarten

Posted on December 29, 2011 by Ima Jeane Poole

In our ongoing effort to dumb down our children, state lawmakers have introduced legislation to change the cut-off date to enter kindergarten. Under current state law, the child has to turn five by September 30 in order to enter kindergarten. If passed, the new bill will introduce the following changes:

  1. The child must turn eight by January 1 to enter kindergarten
  2. Parents must not attempt to teach the child any basics (letters, shapes, colors). Officials feel that this is better learned in school. Why get a head start?
  3. Educators can send children home to start again the next year if they feel the child is not mature enough to begin school. This option can be exercised twice, after which, the child will no longer have the option of school and will automatically be placed on life-time welfare.
