Stoplight Bandit strikes again

Posted on November 19, 2002 by Bjorn Knoxley

For the fourth time this month, the criminal known only to authorities as the “Stoplight Bandit” struck again yesterday afternoon. He managed to alter the stoplight at the intersection of Westland Drive and Gallaher View Road without being noticed. The Bandit has hit three other lights around Knoxville this month alone, including the light on Emory Road and Dry Gap Pike, the light on Cedar Bluff at Dutchtown, and a light on Cumberland at 17th. The bandit disables the greenlight and hangs a banner saying “None shall pass.” Knoxville area police are baffled, and have no leads in the case. Last month the bandit struck 14 lights around town and three in Maryville.
