Study shows elderly keep getting older

Posted on August 9, 2005 by Bjorn Knoxley

Recent studies conducted at the University of Tennessee show that the aged are growing increasingly older.

A twelve-year study, funded in part by the makers of Gerber Baby Food, undeniably proves that the U.S. population continues to age daily. Lead researcher, Franklin F. Buttons, says that the compiled reports based on this study will have ramifications throughout society. “These findings will make it possible to properly plan for healthcare issues, offer more suitable television programming, even allow the makers of clothing to have a better feel for the emerging markets.” stated Mr. Buttons.

Representatives from Gerber could not be reached for comment, but Mr. Buttons has confirmed that they are funding a follow-up study. “Stage two will involve mainly toddlers. If the old are getting older, what will happen to our world if it holds true that the young are also getting younger?”
