| GWAR member Hymenstra ready to entertain. |
Keeping with the “Sundown In the City” mantra of providing entertainment for the entire family, organizers just announced that later in the summer, GWAR will headline the event. The date has yet to be announced, but is expected to coincide with Independence Day celebrations. GWAR, a metal band, puts on a first rate show according to the band’s promotors, and they enact such things as the onstage dismemberment of Bin Laden, Saddam Hussein, and Mike Tyson with huge amounts of blood being shot into the crowd. A mosh pit will be provided where band member Slymen Hymenstra will lead the festivities, performing a fire dance, while breathing fire and whipping fireballs around on chains. The event is expected to draw a huge all-ages crowd.
