Knox County libraries in jeopardy, West Knoxville News to fill the gap

Posted on June 3, 2008 by Brehd Patchley

With some of Knox County’s 19 library branches in jeopardy due to the County budget, many feared that they would soon lose access to the free use of romance novels and online pornography. This fear, however, was put to rest today when Mayor Ragsdale announced a plan to fill any potential holes in service at West Knoxville News. Starting June 15, anyone with proof of Knox County residence will be allowed to check out magazines and books overnight, as well as share one of three computers to check email and access pornography. If this program works, similar arrangements could prove the library system to be completely unneeded.
