TDOT and Baptist strike deal to save billboard campaign

Posted on October 28, 2006 by Bjorn Knoxley

TDOT and Baptist Health System have struck an agreement that will allow Baptist to continue using their new eye-catching billboards reminiscent of directional signs. According to TDOT officials, the biggest problem with the campaign was the language ‘Clogged Arteries?’ “By phrasing this as a question, it implies that the streets may not be clogged. If they (Baptist) will simply change the question mark to a period or exclamation point, then the boards will more properly represent the absolute mess we’ve made out of the interstate system. Warning drivers about the miserable state of the roads, and informing them of how to get to Baptist is a win for both companies,” said Travis Brickey, spokesman for TDOT.
